Security

When purchases are made from Scientific Products for maximum security we recommend using PayPal. They offer the the highest level of security available. 

We take security seriously, and we want you to feel comfortable and confident that your information is protected as you use our site.  It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.  Experts point out that an online transaction without humans is far safer than a credit card transaction in a regular store. PayPal takes extreme measures to assure the highest level of security is achieved.

Scientific Products works with PayPal to assure you that the transactions you make at Scientific Products are secure.  We use the highest level of security to protect our customers from any unauthorized charges made to your card as a result of purchasing online at Scientific Products. The Fair Credit Billing Act prohibits your bank from holding you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. 

Pricing

Prices shown are valid for all online purchases.  Customs and duties are the responsibility of the buyer. 

Shipping and Handling

Orders will ship from our warehouse via United Parcel Service at the standard, published rate, with the following exceptions:

When parcels are too large for UPS, a second carrier may be chosen, with no additional shipping cost. Where the delivery address is a Post Office Box, United States Postal Service will be used, with no additional shipping cost.

For customers within the United States, we offer three levels of service: 

  • Ground (typically 3-9 business days)*

  • 2-Day

  • Next Day

For customers outside the United States, we offer two levels of shipping:

Expedited (typically 5 business days) Express (typically 3 business days)

The times quoted do not include any delays in destination customs.  Expedited shipment is not available in all areas.   

Taxes, Customs and Duty

The final purchase price includes all applicable state and local taxes.  It does not include customs and duty charges for orders outside the United States.  Customs and duty charges are the responsibility of the customer.

Partial Shipment

Partial shipments may occur if a multipart order contains an item or items temporarily not in stock.  Customers will be notified in advance when this occurs.

Item Availability

If, for some reason an item is unavailable, you will be notified by e-mail and given the opportunity to amend or cancel your order. 

Exchange and Returns

All standard products purchased online can be returned to Scientific Products within 30-days.  If one of these standard products does not meet your expectations just return it to us, as new within 30 days, following the procedure below, for an exchange or refund.  The return policy does not include shipping charges. A restocking fee may apply.

Return Procedures

Contact us by phone, fax, or e-mail.  Provide the purchase order number, part number, and the reason for return.  We will then give you a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) that must be referenced on the packing list when the part is returned.

PayPal Buyers Protection  

The vast majority of PayPal payments occur without problems. If an issue should arise on a purchase not covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, PayPal will work to settle disputes through our Buyer Complaint Process. Purchases paid for with PayPal Buyer Credit may be eligible for additional coverage beyond these two programs.

The Buyer Complaint Process is a way for buyers to issue formal complaints regarding items paid for through PayPal but never received. This system helps build confidence in the PayPal community and helps maintain a safe trading community.

Buyers  

We encourage buyers to initiate communication with sellers if they have a problem with a transaction. Through open communication, many disputes can be resolved amicably. In cases where communication does not resolve a problem, you may file a claim through the Buyer Complaint Process.

Once you file a claim, PayPal will investigate the case and attempt to come to a fair resolution. If our investigation determines that you are owed money by the seller, we will make every effort to recover funds for you. Buyers who pay for an eBay item with PayPal Buyer Credit automatically have full purchase protection against non-receipt. For eBay items purchased through PayPal, your transaction will be covered by eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Program. For more info, please see the Buyer Complaint User Agreement. We will try to complete our investigation and provide any reimbursement within 45 days from the date the Buyer Complaint Form is filed.

Buyer Complaint Process Requirements

In order for a transaction to be eligible for Buyer Complaint Process review:

  • You must have used PayPal to pay for your purchase.
  • You must not have received the item that you purchased.
  • You must file a claim within 45 days of payment.
  • Your purchase must be a tangible item. Services and intangible items, such as emailed recipes and e-books, are not covered.
Sellers  

If a buyer files a claim against an item you sold, PayPal will investigate the transaction and attempt to determine a fair resolution. Here are some tips to help you prevent claims from occurring:
  • Use a shipping service that can provide a tracking number or reasonable proof of delivery. If necessary, this will help prove that an item was delivered.
  • Be willing to provide as much information as possible to the investigating agent. If you fail to provide necessary information, we will automatically grant the buyer a refund.
